Creative London:
More than a year after launch, I went back to the Creative London web site. I was hoping to find a dazzling wonderland of inspiring info and news. Er, no. It’s still as it was on launch, and the content doesn’t seem to have changed. After a launch that grandly claimed… “creative industries in London more important than financial services to the economy!”. After hype like that, what does the site’s inertia say to outsiders who don’t know London? According to a new OECD survey it’s easier for an entrepreneur to start a new business in Britain than any other advanced nation on earth. And London
has our highest rate of start-ups + a huge creative production infrastructure. Does that mean London’s employment situation is so tight that Creative London
couldn’t find a couple of talented volunteers to spend twelve months developing their site?
