I’m a bit of an an Eno fanboy, and am currently reading the new Eno biography. But news of his relatively-new little music app for the iPhone, called Bloom, had escaped me until today. It’s been made by Eno and fellow Spore musician Peter Chilvers. Apparently it only has one tone, but allows layering. I wonder what would happen if apps like this could start to interact with things like phone velocity (music speeds up when you get up and start to walk), location data (music vocals takes on a “Brummie” tone when in Birmingham, starts to sound like Elgar when in the Malverns, etc), time of day, and even sample/record and use small audio samples from the immediate surroundings?
