Arts cuts in 2010?

Filed under: Artist(s), Arts cuts, Creative industries — site admin @ mid-morning

A little less than a year after the last round of arts cuts — more arts cuts on the near horizon. The Telegraph muses on the future for the large institutions of the arts world. Ken Russell in The Times calls for measures to make sure that money reaches artists, rather than being siphoned off into arts management frills, art aimed at supporting government policies, and the Olympics.

Meanwhile, none of the government targets for public participation in arts activity between 2005/6 and 2007/8 have been met.
