Shooting stick:
I flick through hosts of design magazines and go to product-design grad shows, but I’ve never seen a “re-designed for the zeros” shooting stick. Re-designed, I mean, for urban rather than rural living. For the kind of hideous ‘leisure landscapes’ that (for commercial reasons such as forcing you into their cafes to sit down) do not include much or any seating, or in which seating is inevitably vandalised & be-spattered. With new materials, it might even be made “pocketable” through being telescopically collapsible. It might even double-up as a camera monopod support? Or have a mobile phone built in? The idea occured after reading an interview with street photographer Robert Doisneau; having found a suitable street scene composition, he would wait for there hour-after hour for something to happen.
