Birmingham Life; an entertaining blog from a Japanese blogger in Birmingham, with special emphasis on Birmingham food and food shopping…

“The pricing in M&S is beyond my comprehension. Some of the items are double or three times higher than the supermarkets/discounters I usually go to. […] And the cashiers were SO slow. I really missed ALDI/LIDL, even Tesco’s and Asda. The woman at the till was nice and smiley, but it did not make me forget the 10 minutes waiting time in a very short queue.”

And talking of slow queues; when is someone going to launch a “quick coffee” outlet? At the moment, at 3 or 4 minutes per person (alternately deafened and bored while a complex cappuccino slowly grinds its way to the counter), in many coffee places it only needs a short queue to turn into a 30 minute wait for a coffee. I guess I should grab a flask from Woolworths, while they’re still open.
