Dynamics 07 International Puppet Festival
In May 2002 I suggested on D’log that the redundant BBC Pebble Mill studios in Birmingham might profitably become an international centre for puppetry skills, with a dedicated puppet theatre and an annual festival. It didn’t happen (it was demolished, and the site is now fallow), but now — Birmingham gets the biggest puppetry festival in England, rolling out around the city in May 2007. The biennial Dynamics 07 : International Puppet Festival offers Birmingham “100 performances in 30 places over 30 days”, from some of the world’s leading puppeteers. The site is up, but there seems to be little internet-visibility in regard to a marketing effort for Dynamics 07, so far; and yet it’s now a third of the way through April, and the event starts in a little over a month’s time. Spread the word.

The festival sounds great! Lots of fun in Birmingham – and the website (http://www.dynamicsfestival.com) is up and running with listings and info about the shows!
