Minehead, here we come….
‘Our True Intent Is All For Your Delight’ is a new book edited by photographer Martin Parr, who was responsible for the charming Boring Postcards collection a few years ago. Published in October, the book’s title comes from the famous Butlin’s slogan, and features the promotional postcards which John Hinde made for the British holiday camps of the 1960s and early 70s.

Yorkshire, here we come….
Following on from news of the Doncaster conference, I hear of another large digital arts event in Yorkshire; the four-day Sightsonic 2002, which is York’s own International Festival Of Digital Arts. It’s coming all too soon, so book while you can; it runs from 17th to the 20th of October 2002. And if you like Yorkshire so much you want to stay, you can abutt York’s Festival with the Sheffield International Documentary Festival, which runs from the 21st to the 27th of October 2002.
