A summer ‘trailer’ show, for the Autumn Hereford Photography Festival, opens today. It’s the touring Wellcome Trust project “Photo-ID: Photographers and Scientists explore Identity” which features: Kim Cunningham; Mark Edwards; Marlene Haring; Carl Jaycock; Asa Johannesson; Joanna Kane; Evi Lemberger; Dave Lewis;
Paul Sucksmith; and Simon Terrill.
The Hereford Photography Festival itself is on schedule for the late Autumn and will include:
* The Hereford: photographers Steven Brown and Tessa Bunney have been commissioned by the Festival to make portraits of local breeders and their distinctive local breed of cattle.
* A retrospective of twenty photographers who have shown work at the Hereford Photography Festival in the past 20 years have been asked to lend examples of their current work.
* “Open Here”: images submitted for a photography competition to win a £2,000 commission for the 2011 Festival.
* The IBSA World Blind Football Championship is being hosted by The FA for the first time in its history, with The Royal National College for the Blind in Hereford as the venue. 20 partially-sighted students from the Royal National College for the Blind have been working with HPF on an unique project to photograph portraits of the players of England squad.

Sorry about the slight confusion there – I was following the lead of a vaguely worded item on one of the Arts Council websites. I’ve corrected the post to distinguish between “Photo-ID” and the Festival itself. I should have noticed the dates on your website – my bad.
