Anita & me – the movie:
Excellent news! Midlands writer and multi-talented creative Meera Syal’s very enjoyable semi-autobiographical comic novel Anita & Me is being made into a small-budget £4m film. The book is the story of a Hindu girl growing up in a 1970s Staffordshire mining village. Very funny, well worth reading, and a refreshing change from depressing angsty & grimy nose-rubbing novels. You can read the first chapter on the web, for free.

Eno on TV:

ICA chairman booted out:
The chairman of London’s prestigious cutting-edge Intitute of Contemporary Arts has been forced to resign by humourless toadies, over his perfectly legitimate comments in The New Statesman. A pity, having stated his case it would have been very interesting to have seen where he then took the gallery.
